PROUD VETERAN

Today is Veteran's Day in the United States of America.  I am thankful that the men before me stood strong against the enemies over the years, both foreign and domestic.  I am proud to have served in the greatest Navy in the World.  I am a United States Navy Sailor... and always will be.  To all of those that have served, Thank You.  To all of those who have not served, respect and appreciate your freedoms that have been provided you by the US Military Veterans beside you.  Let them know you are thankful.
"Never miss an opportunity to thank a Vet."

What's the big deal about filters anyway?
Why on earth would you ever use a filter?

Electric Slide

28mm f2.8 1/20s ISO:800
This electric sidewalk is part of a art piece at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.  This people mover connects the East and West buildings via and underground passage.  The light panel dances with patterns and has a "2001: A Space Odyssey" feel to it.  It's like sub-terrain space travel.

purple flower majesty

28mm f4.0 1/250s ISO:100
I have lots of individual photos that need to be posted and don't really follow a theme.  I also have been very busy this portrait season taking school yearbook pictures.  I think in the lat 4 weeks I have taken 4000 or so. I'll have to update my tally book to know for sure.  Either way- I haven't made time to keep fresh posts coming on here.  My apologies...  I'll start up regular next week and stay on it. ;)

stuck in the muck

Lake James, Nebo, NC.
I was walking the shores of Lake James a few days ago and came across this duck hovering near the shoreline.  He was tail-feathers to the rocks and gazing strong across the body of water that is undoubtedly his.  This duck has been King on the lake for years...  obviously.
