retrobend

50mm f1.8 1/250s ISO:1600

This is some more experimentation with my 50mm f1.8 lens.  This is a modern radio with retro styling  The f1.8 stop provides a deliciously shallow depth of field allowing for the eye track the fade.  The curves guide you into pin point and move you away slowly.  A controlled gaze.

GO DON HO GO

300mm f5.6 1/50s ISO:800
190mm f5.0 1/60s ISO:800
Two images layered over each other.  These are out of focus lights on my Christmas Tree.  I was playing with focus and DOF trying to see if I could get similar bokeh from each technical deviation.  I got lost in my assignment and found myself drawn to these tiny bubbles.  Then I saw that I had different sized circles of light depending on my zoom setting.  Next it seemed obvious to me to overlay them and see what I got.  Look at the deep layers of light where the rings touch and tangle with each other.  It is a near celestial observance.
