postcards from the ledge

I worked this up for a small postcard project.  There are so many things that can be done creatively with images.  Now that I have some images in a retail setting I have been thinking over how best to market my work.  I'm delivering another set of framed images today.  But my mind wanders through the different ideas about how to use these images.  It is a challenge.  Build it, and they will come...
We will see.

Carver's Gap, NC/TN state line.

These Alpine Meadows make up a portion of the Southern Balds stretch of our Appalachian Mountains.  They were grazed by native buffalo and elk for centuries.  A high country marvel.

coffee time II

Here are a few more variations for coffee time.  These were framed in square shadow boxes offering a different feel and flavor to your morning brew.  Thee also were shot in natural light against a black backdrop.  The early morning sun coming at a low side angle provided a beautiful source for lighting.  I am sipping on a mug of joe right now that tastes as good as this looks. Enjoy.
Peace. Love. Coffee.

coffee time

Coffee Time.  Here are two more images that I did for the coffee shop.  They were print, framed and look great.  Capturing the steam was a real challenge.  Take a shot at it yourself and tell me what you think.  I'd like to hear what you learned about it, what pointers you may have and general advice for the next time.
By the way, these were shot in ambient light only.  Good Luck.

bridged again

I've been working of printing and framing some pieces for sale in a boutique.  I've had a hard time selecting images that appeal to me and should appeal to customers.  It is so fickle between personal taste and business sense.  But people love what people love...  I'm looking at diversifying the offering to cover the masses.  fingers crossed.  In the meantime, here is a refreshed version of a previous post.

Coffee Pop Art

I was asked to create some artwork for a coffee shop.  The owner wanted "Andy Warhol Pop Art."  That is not something I have ever tried.  So yesterday I taught myself the basics and did this as a first run draft.  She immediately bought multiple prints in multiple sizes.  I'd call that a successful exercise.
